If you have walked through a furniture showroom recently, you may be inspired to redo your child’s bedroom to look as good as those that you saw there. If not, your son or daughter will still know just what they want their own special bedroom to look like, and they will keep asking you to redecorate until you actually do.
An army bedroom is popular with boys and girls. Boys, in particular, begin to shoot and play army at a very young age. If you do not allow them to play with guns, they will pick up a stick and pretend that it is one! Television shows often have army themes, and they may see an older sibling or their father play army video games. This inspires many kids to want a camo decor in their bedrooms.
Before beginning to redecorate, it is a great idea to sit down with your son and find out exactly what he would like his bedroom to look like. You can go through magazines and look at sample bedrooms and see just what he wants. You can also sit down at your computer and look online with him. Many kids have specific ideas in their minds that will totally surprise you! The added bonus for you is that your son will feel an ownership to the room that he helped design, and this may inspire him to keep his room tidy and his toys put in their proper places.
A camo bedding set is the easiest way to add the camo look to your son’s room. There are comforter sets that have the comforter, a pillow sham, and a bed skirt in them. You can buy beige or tan sheets to coordinate very well with the baby bedding for boys set. Once you have these pieces on his bed, you will be amazed at how different the room looks. You might have to change a few accessories as well. If you have blue super hero accessories, they definitely should be replaced with either camo ones or preferably solid color tan or beige. Try to keep the focus on the bed! Another good idea is to change the rug in the bedroom so it blends in well with the camouflage bedding. Tan or green are good choices for rug colors.
You can make the room look complete by adding solid tan or green curtains. Try to keep accessories solid colors as much as possible to avoid having the room look mismatched.
